Covered Down Comforters are constructed using a
true baffled box design.
A baffle is an internal fabric wall that separates the top and bottom layers of fabric in a down comforter. While adding loft to the comforter, these internal walls also add strength; allowing the comforter to "give", reducing stress on the fabric and stitching when you toss and turn at night. These internal walls also maximize loft while holding the down in place.
Like down proof fabric, not all baffled box down comforters are created equal. Literally decades of experience and expertise has gone into the design of our baffled box construction, assuring that your Plumeria Bay® down comforter will deliver many years of comfort and warmth.
This is a more costly method of construction but has several distinct advantages over other styles of down comforters including:
- Holds the goose down securely in each chamber, eliminating shifting.
- Maximizes "loft" for better insulation and a fluffier look.
- Eliminates "cold spots" common to other styles of down comforters.
