We use only the best Hungarian White Goose Down for our down comforters.

This goose down is washed multiple times, sanitized with gentle detergents and hot water (no harsh chemicals are used), de-dusted, sorted and tested to the highest standards, under strict supervision, using state of the art German equipment.

Our Warmth Levels (Tropical, Summer, Autumn, etc.) describe the amount of goose down used in a comforter, for example:

  • Queen Size Tropical Warmth uses 22oz of goose down
  • Queen Size Summer Warmth uses 32oz of goose down
  • Queen Size Autumn Warmth uses 46oz of goose down

We offer the widest range of warmth levels available anywhere: Our Lightweight Down Comforters are best suited for warm climates or summer use. Our Year Round Down Comforters are suitable for all seasons use in a wide variety of climates and our Winter Down Comforters are best suited for the coldest climates and seasons.

Fill Power is a term used to describe the size and quality of the down cluster. This is important to know when it comes to the relative loft and insulating properties of goose down. The larger the "Fill Power" number, the larger the size of the individual down clusters, resulting in (relatively) better insulating ability and a fluffier comforter, ounce for ounce.

We offer a wide range of quality Fill Power choices: 650 Fill Power, hand sorted 750 Fill Power, hand sorted 800 Fill Power and hand sorted 900 Fill Power; all Hungarian White Goose Down.

You may want to read our down comforter warmth guide for more information on using Fill Power and Warmth Level to pick the comforter that is just right for you.

The origin of your goose down can be useful to know. We use goose down from Hungary, a region renowned for high quality large cluster goose down. Goose down from Asia can be inconsistent in quality and is generally found in less expensive bedding. Also, If you see something like Siberian Goose Down, you should be aware that this is basically sales hype. We do not know of any goose down that actually comes from Siberia.

Our hand sorted 750 fill white goose down is approximately 15% fluffier and warmer than our 650 fill. Sometimes, you may notice dark spots through the fabric on your comforter or pillow. These are dark (gray) clusters of down and are present, to some degree, in even the highest quality (unbleached) hand selected white goose down. Goose down turns gray as the goose gets older (just like our hair). This is natural, and the fill is not inferior in any way. When present, these random dark clusters are usually only visible when compressed under the fine white fabric. If you were to open the pillow or comforter and allow the down to expand it would be very difficult to see any dark clusters.
