Comfort and Beauty
Brahms Mount Blankets
Brahms Mount blankets are woven from propriety yarns on Crompton and Knowles W3 shuttle looms. This type of loom dates from the 1940’s and formed the backbone of the Industrial revolution of this country. They produce selvedges (the woven edge) that cannot unravel or be aesthetically obtained on modern equipment. Brahms Mount hand folds the edges on all sides and securely sews them in place. This feature avoids the use of attached bindings, a seemingly small detail that speaks volumes regarding the quality of design and construction that goes into each Brahms Mount blanket. Depending upon the style, an individual Queen size blanket contains upwards of 5.80lbs of pure Cotton. Linen blankets are slightly weightier. This is another important consideration in the design process focused on your comfort and the need to provide the drape and "hand" essential to a good nights sleep.
Over twenty years ago Brahms Mount invented a Cotton fabric that is recognized today as the most comfortable and beautifully constructed Cotton blanket you can own. Manufactured in Hallowell, Maine, it is the perfect weight, conforming to your body and encouraging a deep and restful sleep. Like Plumeria Bay®, Brahms Mount believes that today's bedroom is about comfort, good design, ease of maintenance and really good quality.
Cuddled In Cotton
Comfort Is The Utmost Concern
Brahms Mount states: "Our desire is to cuddle our customers in cotton or let them languish in the luxury of linen. According to the natural properties of the fibers, we believe that Cotton and Linen are the most comfortable and least allergically aggressive of all natural fibers. "Comfort" is of the utmost concern to us and we define it in terms of many factors, amongst which insulation, moisture wicking, weight and visual aesthetics all play an important role. Our blankets are washable and this is always the best way to eliminate dust mites and other bedroom allergens and keep bedding fresh and vibrant. Where we use color we prefer to use Reactive dyes. These colors bind with the cellulose, Cotton or Linen, in such a manner that they remain fast to washing and fading for a considerable time period."

A little love....
Brahms/Mount blankets wear like your favorites. Durable? Absolutely! Will they last forever? They are woven from natural fibers and last according to the traffic pattern… a little love and care goes a long way.
There is no need to wash your blankets before use , they won't shrink… all of our blankets are pre-washed and tumble dried during the final manufacturing process. This assures their "hand" and a stable dimension.
When you wash: Brahms Mount blankets wash beautifully. Ideally a front loading machine is best. Machine wash on a short gentle setting, making sure that the blanket is evenly distributed and wet before adding your detergent. Please dilute your detergent before adding. We recommend liquid detergents. Do not use chlorine products, it will degrade and discolor the natural fibers. We suggest that if you use detergents with whiteners, that they be used on our White blankets only since we have found that these whiteners can distribute unevenly.
Remove promptly from washer and tumble dry on high.
