Batiste Down Comforters

Are filled with the finest Hand Selected 800 Fill Power Polish and Hungarian White Goose Down. This goose down is washed, sanitized, dried, de-dusted, sorted and tested to the highest standards, under strict supervision, using state of the art German equipment.

First, a word about Fill Power and choosing the warmth level of your Down Comforter.

You can use fill power to help "fine tune" the warmth of your comforter. For instance, if you are an average sleeper and your room temperature is 65° - 75° you might choose a Summer or Autumn comforter. We'll use a Queen Size down comforter for this example. Depending on the fill power you choose, you will get:

• Summer 650 28oz fill - the coolest of these choices.
• Summer 750 28oz fill - fluffier and warmer, compared to the 650 fill.
• Summer 800 28oz fill - fluffier and warmer, compared to the Summer 750 fill. The Summer 800 might also be called an "Autumn Light".
• Autumn 650 44oz fill - heavier, fluffier and warmer than the Summer 800.
• Autumn 750 44oz fill - fluffier and warmer, compared to the Autumn 650.
• Autumn 800 44oz fill - The fluffiest and warmest of these choices.

Ultra Light. For the warmest climates and sleepers.

Tropical: A slightly lighter version of the Summer comforter, for warm sleepers in warm climates.

Summer: The Summer down comforter is designed for use in the South (with air-conditioned bedrooms) and for those who live elsewhere but keep a comfortably warm bedroom.

Autumn: Our year-around or “all-seasons" down comforter. Nice and fluffy, not too hot, not too cold for the average person in a range of climates.

The Batiste Down Comforter excells in the lighter warmths. If you are interested in our Winter or Deep Winter warmths, we suggest the Traditional Luxury Down Comforters or the Lyocell Down Comforters.

We can add more down to your comforter, but we cannot remove it. Because of the high quality of our goose down, many people are surprised at how warm our down comforters are. So if you are concerned about over heating, a good rule of thumb is to select a weight that is one weight lighter than you think will keep you comfortable. If, within 1 year of your purchase, you decide that you would like more down added, we only charge for the actual cost of the down and return shipping.

Our down comforters are made at the time of your order and usually ship within 1-3 business days. This means that your new down comforter is always "fresh" and has not been sitting on some dusty shelf for months.

How do we do it? Our down proof fabrics are woven and sewn in Europe, ready to be filled with our premium European White Goose Down using state of the art equipment to make sure that each box is filled precisely (to within a 100th of a gram) with the same amount of down. Your comforter is then finished, quality checked (one last time) and packed for shipment.

All Plumeria Bay® down comforters are made with Baffled Box construction. This style, when done properly, eliminates shifting of down and cold spots, and allows the down to loft to it's fullest. Not all "baffled box" comforters are created equal. Click here to learn more about ours.

Caring for your down comforter

It's easy! Fluff daily, and keep in a duvet cover.

Plumeria Bay® Batiste down comforters are machine washable, but should only be washed when necessary (excessive washing is hard on the down clusters and strips the down of its natural oils).
