For The Little One's That Depend On Us

We strongly recommend that you do not allow your baby to sleep with a down comforter, pillow or featherbed. We will not knowingly sell a down item that will be used by an infant.

Down comforters and featherbeds are warm. Infants do not regulate their internal body heat like an adult, and may become overheated when sleeping on a featherbed or covered with a down comforter. Infant overheating is one suspected cause of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS)

A new study, published in October of 2008 in the Archives of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine states that sleeping in a room with a fan lowers a baby's risk of sudden infant death syndrome by 72 percent.

Other strategies for lowering the risk of SIDS include removing all soft bedding and putting babies on their back

Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) is a largly unknown medical disorder that strikes without warning, taking the lives of thousands of apparently healthy infants each year. More information on how to minimize the risk of SIDS.
