What is a German Size Duvet?

A German Size Duvet, or Daunendecke, is a down comforter that is sized for one person to use.

This style of duvet is frequently used in Europe (and Germany) by couples that sleep in the same bed, but have different requirements for warmth.  For example, one person may be a warm sleeper and want a very light weight comforter, while the other person may be a cold sleeper and want a very warm comforter.  Our down comforter warmth guide.

The German Size comforter is the perfect solution!  Typically about 54" wide x 78" long, it is designed to fit a person, where a standard size duvet is sized to fit a bed.  Our down comforter size guide.

This is also a great size for cuddling with on the couch, or for traveling.
